Houston - We had no problems!

We got back to Arlington on Tuesday. I think we all a great time in Houston for our physiological training.

These are some of the things that I took away from the training:
  • Boyle's Law - gas is going to find an exit out of your body from multiple orifices as the pressure decreases.
  • The percentage of oxygen is constant in the atmosphere at every level (~21%). It never made sense to me until now that the molecules of that make up our air get farther apart but not really less in amount as the pressure decreases.
  • The physiological training doesn't appear to have anything to do with the zero-g flight except to prepare in case of emergency decompression at a high altitude.
  • We as a team have a much better perception of our capabilities then we previously did. When you sit for four hour-long lectures and experienced pilots and NASA personnel tell you all of the different problems that can happen, including but not limited to personality changes, fainting, delirium and euphoria, you can start to doubt your own capabilities. We all made it out fine with know adverse or lasting ill effects.
